9. Entering Option Symbols:
To see a list of options & their months, you may type in the underlying symbol like DELL & click on the "Option Chain" button on top. This will allow you to find the option that you are looking for & add it to your list if desired.
To enter an option symbol directly, you need three pieces of information:
- The Option Root symbol
- The code for the month
- The code for the strike price
To find an option quote, please enter a space between the option root symbol & the last 2 letters (month and strike codes). Example: Reuters option, strike of 100, January CALL. The option root is RTQ, a January call is A, a strike of 100 is T. Assemble it all and you get "RTQ AT".
Here are 3 examples of options: MSQ AF, GE AF, WMT LL (a space is between the root & the month and strike codes (last 2 letters.)
For example try the following individual exchange option quote entries:
- RTQ AT.A (For AMEX)
- RTQ AT.C (For CBOE)
- RTQ AT.I (For ISE)
- RTQ AT.P (For PCX)
- RTQ AT.X (For PHLX)
