1. Why am I getting a black, blank or gray screen when I load the Screamer?
Answer: A few possibilities:
a) Connectivity issue (things are running slow with your Internet Service Provider)
b) Transmission problem
c) Missing a java plug-in
d) You have not accepted the Java support or security warning when launching the Screamer.
- Close all browser windows & re-open the browser. If this does not help then restart your computer (this gives the computer a chance to reset its components), if this does not help. please follow the instructions below if you have not yet downloaded the latest Java plug-in:
- Java plug-in For Windows OS users: Please get the latest Java Plug-in, please go to:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html. On the top right hand-side, please click on the yellow button: "Get It Now", Please accept the agreements & choose the "Typical" download. Please follow the instructions on your screen carefully. After the installation is complete, please restart your computer.
- If a message prompts you to trust Money.net security (when you load the Streaming Real-Time Quotes), please click on "YES". This is Java support &/or security for the data which will enable you to receive Streaming Real-Time Quotes. You must accept the Security warning &/or the Java support.

2. Why am I not getting any data on the Screamer, but the symbols show?
Answer: A few possibilities:
a) Your PC may be missing the Java plug-in or an old version is installed.
b) You have not accepted the Java support or security warning when launching the Screamer:

3. When I click on the "Launch" button for any service, nothing happens, why?
Answer: This may be due to pop-up controls or pop-up or ad blockers/stoppers on your computer.
If you have such programs on your computer, please either enter settings that enable our services (with Java) or disable your pop-up controls on your computer completely.

4. Can the data on the Streaming RTQ System be exported or transferred into a spreadsheet, like Excel?
Answer: YES, the data on the Streaming RTQ System can be exported or transferred into a spreadsheet, like Excel. To do this, please open the Streaming RTQ System click on "Snapshot" on top & choose "Portfolio Snapshot", then you can click on the "Export to spreadsheet" link for each portfolio list you have.

5. Why am I getting a white page when I load the Screamer?
Answer: Using Netscape may sometimes cause this since the java files are not as stable as in Internet Explorer.
- To use Internet Explorer: Go to your "Start" button, "Run", & type in "iexplore.exe", this will open your Internet Explorer browser, which is more compatible & has better Java capabilities.
- If you don't have Internet Explorer, you can download it at: http://www.microsoft.com/ie

6. Why am I getting "Internal Server Error" when I load the Screamer?
Answer: Transmission process from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) was not accepted.
- Please make sure you have the latest upgrade version of your ISP (for dial-ups)
- Try to shut your computer down for a 10 minute span, then restart.

7. When I click on "Launch Screamer"; the same page reloads, why?
Answer: 2 possibilities: Screamer is behind a window or the script configuration is offset.
- Try holding down the "ALT" key & press the "TAB" key until Screamer appears.
- Internet Explorer users: Click on "Tools", "Internet Options", "Security", click "Default Level" then on top click on "Advanced", on bottom click on "Restore Defaults", the press "OK".
- Netscape users: Click "Edit", "Preferences", choose "Advanced", make sure all types of scripting is enabled, save the settings.

8. Can I make the Screamer Portfolio Tracker run on my Macintosh?
Answer: YES!
- Mac users should always make sure that their Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) is up-to-date.
To download the latest version of the MRJ, visit: The Apple MRJ Update page.
- Netscape Communicator 4.76 and newer & Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 & newer both run Screamer Portfolio Tracker successfully on the Mac operating system.
- Internet Explorer users
- When using Internet Explorer, set the browser to use Apple's MRJ (2.1 or higher). MRJ is Apple's version of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) for the Macintosh and is preferable to IE's default version. To enable MRJ in Internet Explorer 4.5, select 'Edit', then 'Preferences', then 'JAVA'.
- Mac users who have trouble loading the Screamer under Internet Explorer 4.5 or 5.0, please use the following steps:
- Go to Edit > Preferences > Web Browser > Java > Security Options > Network Access > choose "Unrestricted Access".
- This will help Mac IE users receive data faster on the Screamer.
- To upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.0, please visit the Internet Explorer download page.
- Netscape 4.76 users - Required plug-in
- Mac Netscape users will need to install the MRJ plug-in into their plug in folder.
- The MRJ plugin enables current Netscape browsers (version 4.X and later) on Mac OS to use the MacOS Runtime for Java (MRJ) to run Applets.
- Netscape version 4.76 can run applets directly using the MRJ plugin. This feature can be turned on by opening up the preferences dialog:
- Edit > Preferences > Advanced > and checking the "Use Java Plug-in" checkbox.
- To download the required Netscape Plug-In, please visit the Netscape MRJ Plug-In page.
- To upgrade to Netscape 4.76, please visit the Netscape 4.76 download page.

9. Why does Portfolio Tracker sometimes disappear when I shut down my web browser?
Answer: Screamer is a Java applet launched, and run, from a browser window. This means the browser window must remain running to maintain Portfolio Tracker. If you exit the browser running Portfolio Tracker, the applet will also close.

10. Can I still browse the Internet or trade from my web browser when Portfolio Tracker is open?
Answer: Yes. Once the Screamer window appears, you may continue to trade and/or browse in your original browser window except when using certain versions of Internet Explorer for the Mac. If you encounter this problem, you may minimize Portfolio Tracker's browser window to the task bar and open another window for trading or browsing by selecting 'File' then 'New' and 'Window'.

11. Why can't I get past the security certificate window?
Answer: It may be your encryption is too low, please make sure you have 128-bit encryption for Internet Explorer installed. To get the newset encryption for Internet Explorer please go here. Then close & restart your browser. You may also need to upgrade your browser If you are not running Internet Explorer 5.5, please go here and click on the IE 5.5 download button.

13. How do you enter a blank row, so that two symbols are separated?
Answer: Type in "$blank" & then click "add symbol".

14. What is an "Option Chain"?
Answer: An "Option Chain" lists option quotes in order of strike price for present and future months for a given symbol. This feature makes it easier to find the option quotes you are looking for. To view option quotes, type in any symbol (ie: dell), and click on the "Option Chain" button located on the top. You can also add the option quote of your choice to your portfolio list by right-clicking your mouse.

15. How do I enter an option quote?
Answer: To enter an options quote, you need three pieces of information:
- The Option Root symbol
- The code for the month
- The code for the strike price
To find an option quote, please enter a space between the option root symbol & the last 2 letters (month and strike codes).
Example: Reuters option, strike of 100, January CALL. The option root is RTQ, a January call is A,
a strike of 100 is T. Assemble it all and you get "RTQ AT".
For example try the following individual exchange option quote entries:
- RTQ AT.A (For AMEX)
- RTQ AT.C (For CBOE)
- RTQ AT.I (For ISE)

17. Why do I get a message: "ACCESS DENIED" when I try loading the Real Time Quote Tracker?
Answer: 2 possibilities:
- Your credit card may have been declined due to an incorrect submission or incorrect billing address or an incorrect exp. date supplied to our system. Please call our billing dept. at 1-888-860-4800 to update any information. Out of US, call 1-609-971-5333. (Please do not send credit card numbers via email.)
- You may have canceled your account with us. If you want to reactivate, please call 1-888-860-4800.

18. How do I sort (in ascending or descending order) any columns, ie: the symbol column?
Answer: To sort any column, you need to click on the column header (ie: click on the header "Symbol"). If you want the
symbols INTC, MSFT, & WMT listed in alphabetical order, you would need to click on where it says the word "Symbol"
on top left of the Screamer.

19. How do I enter a cost basis, the amount of shares or alerts on a particular stock?
Answer: Click on the particular symbol, you will see a pop-up menu, click on "Edit Holdings/Alerts", make your entry & click "Apply". Mac users need to hold the Control key + Click on the symbol to see the pop-up and the menu will stay visible until you make your selection.

20. How do I add or rename portfolio lists to the Screamer/Streaming Real Time Quote Tracker?
Answer: Click on the "Edit Portfolios" button which is located on top. Here you can add up to 10 portfolio lists of 50 symbols in each list. You can also view or rename your current portfolios as well as delete any of them. The total symbols you may enter in the entire Screamer is 500.

21. How do I input a new column or data field?
Answer: Click on the "Preferences" button, then choose the column (under "Available") that you would like to view & click on the
plus sign, the column will then be transferred to the viewable box & you will be able to see it on the Real Time Tracker.

22. How do you enter short sales?
Answer: Click on the symbol that you want to enter sale for. On the drop-down menu, click "Edit", then type in the negative
shares amount (ie: -100) in the "Number of Shares" box & press "Apply" at the bottom.

23. What indexes do I have the ability to track?
Calculated Indexes
Some symbols will require dots in front of the index symbol, however not all. IE: To get the Nasdaq Composite, please type: .COMP (a dot in front of the index symbol.) To get the S&P 100 , please type: OEX (no dot in front of it.)

Answer: Yes, you can view up to 5 charts simultaneously. To load multiple charts, just minimize the chart being viewed presently & load another chart from the same place you loaded your initial chart.
